Hey, are you busy for the next couple of days?

I wanted to see you once, maybe when you come outside to get your indie mint.

Hey, are you busy for the next week?

I wanted to watch that movie with you, the one we decided on earlier.

Hey, are you busy for the next fifteen days?

I wanted to show you the new museum they just inaugurated.

Hey, are you busy for the next month?

I will wait to hear back from you.

I heard only lies. You said you didn’t have 30 minutes in four days.

I know it’s a lie when you say you haven’t found that souvenir to return to me.

Silent witnesses keep whispering in my ears—

all of it was a lie.

I’d lie to myself if I said I believed you when you said we were never friends.

I know I am still lying to myself, but—

Hey, are you busy for the next 50 years?

I’d like to watch the sunset with you and listen to The 1975.
